North Goa is still the loudest night out in India. The problem isn't finding somewhere to go — it's that half the "top 10 Goa clubs" lists you'll read were written in 2017.
Here's what the nights actually look like now, and how to do them without spending the first hour in a queue.
Where to go, and what each one is for
- Thalassa, Vagator — clifftop Greek taverna with the sunset everyone photographs. Book ahead; walk-ins at golden hour are optimistic.
- Hammerz and LPK Waterfront — the big-room Goa club nights. Commercial sets, waterfront setting, goes late.
- Anjuna's underground rooms — techno and psytrance if the big clubs aren't your thing. The lineup changes weekly, so ask locally rather than trusting a blog.
- Curlies and the Anjuna shack strip — sundowners with your feet in the sand. Low effort, high return.
- Panjim casino ships — the Mandovi River floating-casino night. Touristy, genuinely fun once.
The stuff nobody tells you
- Couple entry is a real thing. Several clubs price or gate entry by group composition. Arriving as a group of travellers rather than a stag group makes the night substantially easier.
- Getting home is the expensive part. Late-night cabs in North Goa surge hard, and riding a scooter back after a night out is how holidays end badly.
- Dress code is smart casual. Resort wear is fine. Flip-flops and swimwear will get you turned away at the bigger rooms.
